What have we learned.

It has been overwhelming to learn how highly today's parents value the education of their children. Beyond government supported schools, there are 8,000+ private schools in Nepal and some 800+ in Kathmandu alone. Families spend as much as 70 US dollars per month to send their children to a top private school in Kathmandu. Consider this against household annual per capita income of 1,800 US dollars.

The flight from Bahrain highlighted the extent of migration. On a flight with 180 people there were only 6 non-Nepali (team SLU + 1) flying. Literally bales of goods were being brought home by these travelers. (But of course not our luggage.)
